I started working on the topic Catfish for my Digital Media II project. The more we discussed my topic in class, I realized that there wasn’t much of a story left to discuss in a documentary that hasn’t already been told in ‘Catfish’ http://www.iamrogue.com/catfishthe documentary. Another issue with the topic of Catfish is that there are not too many people out there that are credible. Just because someone may have been catfished does not mean that they have a well-rounded understanding of the situation.
Because of this, I have decided to change my topic to “Musicians in a Social Media World”. I know that there are many musicians/bands out there who would not have been known by a broad audience or discovered without the use of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace, etc. A successful story of this would be Justin Bieber, who was discovered through YouTube. So, not only should I have no problem finding someone who has credibility to interview, it’s a subject that I find interesting and enjoy.
